When Joan Boyd fell and broke several ribs, she needed some assistance with her mobility and self-care.
Boyd chose to come to Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley in North Billerica, Massachusetts, for her rehabilitation. She arrived on April 5, 2019, and took part in physical, occupational and speech therapies.
Physical therapists worked with Boyd on strength, gait and balance, while occupational therapists helped her regain her independence in self-care skills like bathing, dressing and grooming, as well as basic home care.
“If you have to go anywhere for rehab, Life Care Center of Merrimack Valley is it!” Boyd said.
Boyd returned home successfully on April 24, taking care of herself again and getting around without assistance.
“Joan was highly motivated in her therapy,” said one of Boyd’s therapists. “She was always a pleasure to work with and was willing to do anything necessary to regain her independence.”
